Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman trained in medicine at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, before completing his PhD at University College London. Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman was a faculty member at the Medical Research Council’s Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, before appointment as Ursula Zoellner Professor of Cancer Research at the University of Cambridge in 1998. He was the Director of the Medical Research Council (MRC) Cancer Unit. Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman is the Bhupat and Jyoti Mehta Chair Professor at the Department of Biotechnology, IIT Madras. He has Mehta Foundation Visiting Professorship, IIT Madras. He is also Collaborative Science Chair and Theme Coordinator, Chemical Biology and Therapeutics, inStem, Bengaluru.
