Ultrasonics for Nondestructive Evaluation Structural Health Monitoring and Process Control Simulation and analysis of elastic wave propagation and scattering Robotic and automated inspection Artificial intelligence in sensing and controlDr. Prabhu Rajagopal is Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and an Associate of the Centre for Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) at IIT Madras. A Dual Degree (2003) graduate of IIT Madras, he obtained his PhD in Ultrasonic NDE from Imperial College London, UK in 2007. As a Post-doctoral Research Fellow, he developed advanced computational tools for qualifying welds on a Rolls-Royce funded project, also at Imperial. He is currently Principal or Co-Investigator in BRNS, DST, MHRD-MNPG and MOD sponsored projects, and has contributed over 100 technical articles in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Rajagopal serves on the editorial board of ISNT Journal of NDE, and engages actively with industry.
